Most setup delays do not come from one major fault. They come from small decisions made without a stable process window.

On busy shifts, teams often jump straight to pressure, hold, and cooling tweaks before the baseline is proven. That creates rework, inconsistent handover notes, and avoidable scrap.

Problem

When the process window is unclear:

  • transfer is moved too early or too late
  • hold pressure is used to mask fill-stage issues
  • cooling gets changed to solve dimensional variation caused elsewhere

The result is instability across operators, machines, and shifts.

Practical method

Use a repeatable baseline sequence:

  1. Confirm material preparation and drying are in tolerance.
  2. Establish fill profile first (do not tune hold to compensate yet).
  3. Set transfer by observed cavity behaviour, not by habit.
  4. Introduce hold only after fill is stable.
  5. Validate cooling against dimensional and cycle objectives.
  6. Record final settings in a standardised handover format.
